Page 1
High atop a jagged grey cliff sat a large nest made of thick sticks and soft moss. This was the home of Eddie the Eaglet, a fluffy bird with curious eyes. He looked out over the wide, green valley below.

Page 2
Mama Eagle landed softly beside him with her great white head shining in the sun. She spread her dark brown wings wide to show Eddie how strong he would become. It was time for Eddie to learn about his home.

Eagles live high up to stay safe from animals on the ground, Mama explained gently. From their rocky perch, they can see for miles with their sharp eyes. Eddie practiced blinking his large, dark eyes at the distant trees.

One morning, Mama Eagle brought a silver fish back to the nest for breakfast. She showed Eddie how to use his yellow beak to eat. Eagles are great hunters who catch fish from the cold, rushing water below.
