Dash's Speedy Surprise

Watch the story

Page 1
Dash the squirrel loved to scamper, but he wished he could run even faster. The annual Forest Sprint was coming soon, and he wanted to win! He practiced every day, but still felt a bit slow.

Page 2
Dash sighed, watching a speedy rabbit zoom past. "How can I run faster?" he wondered aloud. He knew just the friend to ask for advice. He scurried off towards the tallest pine tree.

Perched on a high branch was Ollie the owl, reading a large book. "Hello, wise Ollie!" chirped Dash. "I need to run faster for the sprint. Do you know a secret way?"

Page 4
Ollie gently closed his book. "There's no magic spell for speed, little Dash," he hooted kindly. "But there are three important things you can do every single day. Let's talk about them!"

Page 5
"First, practice!" Ollie explained. "Run a little farther each day. Your muscles grow stronger with every hop and dash." Dash nodded, understanding this part already.

Page 6
"Second," Ollie continued, "eat good, healthy food. Nuts, berries, and fresh water give you energy. Sugar treats make you tired quickly!" Dash remembered his love for acorns.

"And third, get plenty of sleep," Ollie advised. "Your body rests and repairs itself at night. A well-rested runner is a fast runner!" Dash imagined himself tucked snugly in his bed.

Dash thanked Ollie and started his new routine. He ran every morning, ate crunchy nuts and sweet berries, and went to bed early. He felt stronger and lighter!

Race day arrived! Dash stood at the starting line, his heart thumping. He remembered Ollie’s words: practice, good food, and rest. The whistle blew, and Dash darted forward!

Dash didn't win first place, but he ran faster than ever before! He felt proud of his hard work and healthy choices. And from that day on, Dash knew that true speed came from a strong body and a happy, determined heart.
