A story to share together
The Great Block Bridge
Leo and his robot friend Pip try to build a bridge across the living room carpet, but their different ideas lead to a crash. By practicing deep breaths and taking turns, they learn to combine their designs into something even better.

Leo and Pip sat on the soft rug. It was time for a building challenge! Leo wanted to build a tall tower that reached the clouds. Pip wanted to build a long bridge that stretched across the carpet sea. They grabbed all the wooden blocks and started to build together.

Leo stacked his blocks higher and higher. Pip added a flat base for the bridge. Suddenly, the tower swayed. Leo tried to grab it, but his hand bumped Pip's bridge. Crash! The blocks clattered everywhere. Leo felt his face grow hot and his tummy feel tight. He wanted to shout.

Leo’s hands shook. He looked at Pip, who beeped a sad, low sound. Leo felt a big bubble of anger growing inside his chest. He took a deep breath in through his nose, and let it out slowly. The bubble didn't pop, but it felt a little smaller now. He needed a break.

Leo walked to the kitchen where Mom was folding laundry. He felt grumpy, but his body felt a bit quieter. He told her about the tower and the bridge. Mom smiled and gave him a gentle squeeze. She suggested they try to build one thing together instead of two separate things.

Leo returned to the rug. Pip was waiting patiently. Leo sat down and looked at the blocks. He felt a little better, but still wanted his tower. He took one more slow breath. He decided to listen to Pip’s idea. Maybe they could build a bridge with a tower on top!

Leo went first. He placed three blocks for the bridge base. Then it was Pip’s turn. Pip used two long blocks to make a sturdy path. They took turns, one block at a time. It was fun to see the bridge grow steadily across the carpet sea. They were working as a team.

Now it was time for the tower. Leo carefully placed the blocks on the middle of the bridge. Pip helped by holding the base steady so it wouldn't wobble. They breathed together, focusing on every movement. The tower reached higher and higher, stronger than before. They were doing it!

The final block was placed. The tower stood tall and proud right in the center of the bridge. It was perfect. Leo looked at Pip and cheered. Pip beeped a happy, high-pitched tune. They had combined their ideas, and it was better than anything they could have built all alone.

Leo realized that feelings were like waves. They came and went, but he could choose what to do. Taking a break and asking for help made the building much more fun. He felt proud of his bridge and proud of himself for staying calm while they solved the big challenge.

As the sun set, Leo and Pip sat by their creation. They had learned to listen, take turns, and breathe. Tomorrow, they would build something new. But for now, they just enjoyed the quiet, happy feeling of finishing a project together. They were the best team in the whole wide world.
