Deep in the Whispering Woods, Dr. Barnaby Bear sat on a mossy log. He wore his white doctor's coat and held a glowing blue telescope in his hand. His friend, Sammy the Squirrel, hopped over to see what was happening today.

Dr. Barnaby Bear pointed his magic telescope toward a happy child playing nearby. He told Sammy that inside our bodies, there are wonderful parts called organs. Each organ has a special job to keep us healthy and strong.

First, they looked at the brain inside the child's head. It looked like a pink, wrinkled cloud and sent messages to the whole body. The brain helps us think, learn new things, and tells our legs when to run and jump.

Next, they saw the heart beating steadily in the middle of the chest. It made a thump-thump, thump-thump sound as it pumped bright red blood along every path. This powerful pump carries energy and air to our fingertips, our toes, and everywhere in between.

Page 5
Two large, pink lungs filled with air like fluffy balloons. Every time the child took a deep breath, the lungs collected fresh oxygen. Sammy watched how the lungs grew and shrank as the child smelled a beautiful flower.

In the belly area, they found the busy stomach. It was shaped like a little bag and was busy breaking down a crunchy apple. The stomach turns the food we eat into fuel so we can play all day long.

Page 7
Right next to the stomach sat the large, reddish-brown liver. Dr. Barnaby Bear explained that the liver is like a brave filter. It cleans the blood and makes sure we get rid of things that don't belong in our healthy bodies.

Further down, they saw the long, winding intestines that looked like curly ropes. These smart tubes take all the good vitamins from our food. They make sure the body gets every bit of goodness to help us grow and get stronger.

Finally, they noticed two small kidneys that looked exactly like little beans. These organs work very hard to keep our water levels just right. They filter out waste and keep our insides balanced, so we never feel too sluggish or tired.

Sammy the Squirrel hugged his tummy and thanked Dr. Barnaby Bear for the lesson. He promised to eat healthy food and exercise every day. And so, the two friends headed home, knowing that their wonderful bodies were working perfectly on the inside.
