Berti Tinfoot Finds Friends
Page 1
Deep in the green forest, something strange landed one day. It was Berti, a little silver robot with glowing blue eyes. Berti looked around and beeped in a friendly way, but the trees did not answer.

High up in the branches sat Pippa the squirrel. She watched the shiny visitor suspiciously. Berti tried to wave, but Pippa quickly hid behind her bushy tail.

Suddenly, Berti heard a loud sniffle. Behind a bush sat Benni the bear. He looked very sad because his favorite hat was stuck high up in a thorny shrub and he could not reach it.

Berti knew exactly what to do! He rolled over on his little wheels and extended his long, yellow telescopic arms. With a gentle click, he grabbed the hat and rescued it from the thorns.

Benni the bear was so happy that he gave Berti a big bear hug. Pippa the squirrel scurried over and brought Berti a shiny acorn as a gift. Berti's heart button glowed bright red with happiness.

From that day on, Berti was no longer alone. He learned that you do not need fur to be a good friend. In the forest, they played together every day—a bear, a squirrel, and a little, happy robot.
