Little Breath and the Blue Air Bubble
This story tells of the magical journey the air takes inside a little girl's body when she breathes, and how oxygen gives us energy.

On a sunny morning, Elif took a deep breath under the big tree in the garden. As she felt the cool air entering her nose, she wondered what was happening inside. Just then, a small, glowing blue bubble appeared in front of her.

Hello Elif, I am an oxygen particle, said the little bubble cheerfully. We can go on a wonderful journey inside your body together. Come on, let's glide into your nose and start this mysterious adventure right away, it added gently.

Elif and the Blue Bubble slid down the windpipe as if they were on a soft slide. It was like a very clean and safe tunnel. Tiny hairs kept the dust out, cleaning the air and guiding it downward.

At the end of the path, they reached two large, soft pink hills. These were the lungs, and they were waiting for air like a giant sponge. The Blue Bubble showed Elif the millions of tiny air sacs all around. They were all overflowing with fresh air.

Now it is time to jump into a red river, said the Blue Bubble. They passed through the wall of a tiny sac and hopped onto blood cells. These red cells looked like cheerful little train cars carrying oxygen to every corner of the body.

A strong thumping sound began to be heard. This sound was like the beat of a giant drum. As they passed by the heart, the Blue Bubble waved at Elif. The heart was pumping the blood train at full speed toward the legs, arms, and brain.

Finally, they reached Elif's working muscles. The cells here needed energy. The Blue Bubble and its friends entered the cells and gave them power. Elif now understood much better why she breathed faster when she ran.

When their job was done, the Blue Bubble had changed and had taken a friend named Carbon Dioxide with it. Now it was time to leave the body. They hopped back onto the blood river and began a fast and exciting journey in the opposite direction toward the lungs.

When they returned to the lungs, Elif exhaled deeply. As the Carbon Dioxide bubble flew out of her mouth, Elif felt very light. Every cell in her body had been refreshed with fresh oxygen and filled with energy. It was a truly wonderful feeling.

The Blue Bubble winked at Elif as it drifted toward the sky. From now on, every time she took a breath, Elif would remember this magnificent system inside her with love. And from that day on, she took care of her health and continued to run and play in the fresh air.
